Poster M-IDSUMMER 2022 almost complete!

With yet another batch of strong names, the programme of M-IDZOMER 2022 is almost complete. We have added to the musical line-up with: ILA, Mooneye, Bert Dockx, Naima Joris, Isbells, Kurt Overbergh, Camille Camille, Black Sea Dahu and Sohnarr. What is more, Captain Winokio will be present at M-IDZOMER for kids this year.

Earlier we confirmed the arrival of Son Lux, Buffalo Tom, Tindersticks, Intergalactic Lovers,Meskerem Mees, Sylvie Kreusch, Tsar B and Ruben Block. This year, our quirky music and culture festival will take place from Thursday 28 to Sunday 31 July 2022. The ticket(s) are now available in presale!

Together

"M-IDZOMER brings people together, with music and art. That combination transcends walls. Raw emotions are reflected in the music of ILA and the art of Naufus Ramírez-Figueroa. Or what about 'Open M: Time and Again', a group exhibition of regional talent revolving around the concept of time. During M-IDZOMER, time is allowed to slow down. After a few tough years, it is time to enjoy life to the full," says Denise Vandevoort, alderwoman for culture and chair of the board of M.

"It is with great artistic pride that we launch these new acts. The already announced M-IDZOMER poster is for me one of the best line-ups ever," says Mike Naert, general and artistic director of Het Depot. "What is striking is that we have a very feminine poster with top artists such as Intergalactic Lovers, Sylvie Kreush and Meskerem Mees, but also a lot of up-and-coming talent such as Black Sea Dahu, Naima Joris, ILA, Camille Camille , Sohnarr and Tsar B. In short: M-IDZOMER offers a programme of excellence again this year for music lovers who want to enjoy themselves."

Peter Bary, general manager of M Leuven, adds: "Visitors can take their time at M. They can get to know the recently opened exhibition by Naufus Ramírez-Figueroa, with Bert Dockx's dreamy songs in mind. The Leuven band Isbells represents musical talent from the region at M-IDZOMER, in the exhibition 'Open M: Time and Again' we do that with the help of 13 artists. So, as you see: M-IDZOMER is a strong collaboration between M and Het Depot."

MUSIC

28.07.2022 ILA

ILA stands for honest songs with raw emotions. The song 'Leave Me Dry' has been played on the radio and, according to Studio Brussel, ILA is part of De Nieuwe Lichting 2022. "PJ Harvey in the Turkish bazaar", Het Belang van Limburg once said. Frankly? We could not have put it better.

29.07.2022 Bert Dockx

After the successful 'Transit', 'Safe'is the second album that Bert Dockx(Dans Dans, Flying Horseman, Ottla, Strand) releases under his own name. This collection of songs and instrumentals straddles the line between threat and dream, between silence and storm.

29.07.2022 Mooneye

Warm melodies, choruses that don't let you go and a golden voice. Behold the most punishing weaponry in Mooneye's extensive arsenal. With the debut album 'Big Enough' and its slightly melancholic indie pop, Michiel Libberecht & co have already been a massive hit on the radio. Now Mooneye is ready to conquer the festivals!

30.07.2022 Kurt Overbergh - ‘I Just Don’t Understand Nick Cave’

i Just Don't Understand Nick Cave' is a more than lived monologue about - how did you guess - the hardest workin' man in show business: Nick Cave. A monologue based on a handful of personal stories from Kurt Overbergh's life. Often null and void. Sometimes funny. Then again, frank. For some bizarre reason - and fortunately for Cave fans - every story ends up with His Lordship Nicholas Edward Cave.

30.07.2022 Naima Joris

Naima Joris made her debut last year in an impressive way with a first EP without title. With the singles 'Soon', 'Bellybutton' and 'My Home', Naima immediately made a strong impression. Radio 1 'Belpopbelofte’ title, a tasteful passage in Vive le Vélo and an MIA nomination for "Doorbraak" were only a few of the many highlights that followed. Expect a unique setting, songs that touch and comfort and an evening that will not leave you unmoved.

30.07.2022 Isbells

Isbells are the Belgian stars in an americana firmament and with international allure. Their 2009 debut album has become a classic and their live concerts are among the most refined and subtly intimate sets to be found today.

30.07.2022 Sohnarr

When violinist Patricia Vanneste left Balthazar after 14 years, she decided to throw herself into her solo project. She packed up her microphone, violin and laptop and set off to hike through the nature of Sweden and Norway and record music at the same time. The result, Sohnarr!

31.07.2022 Camille Camille

Camille Camille equals for melancholic soothing folk music of the highest order. Her debut album 'Could You Lend Me Your Eyes' is proof of that. She takes her inspiration from nature, her dreams, self-reflection, human relationships and the ever-changing aspect of things.

31.07.2022 Black Sea Dahu

The six-piece Swiss group Black Sea Dahu consists of singer-songwriter Janine Cathrein and a band of brilliant musical partners. Their debut album 'White Creatures' received much international praise and was soon compared to indie-folk greats such as Ben Howard and Big Thief.
